At 13TaxiService, we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services. Please read this policy carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

When you use our taxi services, we collect certain personal information to provide a better experience. The information we may collect includes, but is not limited to:

  • Personal identification information (such as name, email address, phone number)
  • Ride details (such as pickup and drop-off locations, ride time, and payment information)

4. Driver and Vehicle Requirements

To operate as a taxi driver with 13TaxiService in Melbourne, all our drivers must meet the following requirements:

  • Driver Accreditation: All taxi drivers must hold a valid Commercial Passenger Vehicle Driver Accreditation (DA) issued by Safe Transport Victoria.
  • Driver’s License: Drivers need to have a valid Victorian full driver’s license.

5. Sharing of Your Information

At 13TaxiService, we value your privacy. We never share your personal information with third-party companies or spammers. Your contact details, collected during the taxi booking process, will only be shared with your assigned driver for communication related to your pickup. This information is used solely to facilitate the pickup and ensure a smooth ride.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the date of the latest revision will be indicated at the top of the page.

9. Booking Clarification

If you have made a booking with 13cabs and reach out to 13TaxiService, please note that we are unable to modify or alter bookings made with 13cabs. 13cabs and 13TaxiService are separate and distinct companies, and we are not able to manage or change bookings across these two different services.

10. Tax Invoices and Driver Details

All taxi fares will be accompanied by a tax invoice that includes the following details:

  • Driver’s Information: Including the driver’s name, ABN (Australian Business Number), and Driver Accreditation details.
  • Invoice Information: The invoice will include fare details, payment breakdown, and relevant charges for transparency.

11. Payment Policy

For security reasons, 13TaxiService does not accept payment over the phone. This policy has been implemented due to incidents where individuals have used stolen credit or debit cards to make bookings over the phone. The rightful cardholder often reports the fraudulent charge to their bank, leading to disputes. To prevent such occurrences, all payments are required to be made through our secure online payment system or directly to the driver via an approved payment method during the ride.

12. Emergency Situations

If you are feeling unwell or have an emergency that requires immediate medical attention, please call 000 and ask for an ambulance. Our taxi drivers are not trained or equipped to handle medical emergencies. They are not qualified to provide assistance in emergency situations. Please ensure to seek appropriate emergency services in the event of any medical crisis.

13. Responsibility for Delays

If there is a delay in your taxi arriving or during the journey, 13TaxiService and the driver are not responsible for any inconvenience caused, including any lateness that may result in you missing medical appointments or other urgent matters. Taxi drivers must follow all road rules and traffic regulations, and traffic conditions may vary, causing delays that are out of the driver’s control. While we strive to provide timely service, unforeseen circumstances such as heavy traffic, road closures, or other delays may impact travel time.
